Kawi Industries Solar Swarm Electrification Grid

At Kawi Industries, we are revolutionizing energy access in underserved, off-grid communities across Africa through our Solar Swarm Electrification Grid (Solar-SEP). Our solution deploys modular, AI-optimized microgrids that adapt to local demand, enabling clean, reliable, and affordable energy access. Powered by solar and backed by IoT-driven smart metering and e-money-enabled payments, the Swarm Grid enhances energy equity, stimulates local economic activity, and accelerates climate resilience. Our goal: to electrify 1 million people by 2030, while proving that decentralized renewable energy can scale profitably and equitably.

 

What we do?

At Kawi Industries, we are committed to powering Africa's future by providing clean, affordable, and reliable energy. We are a green energy company with two main business units: biomass briquette manufacturing and solar-powered swarm electrification.

1. Clean Cooking Fuel: #EcoBriqs

We transform agricultural and industrial waste—such as maize stalks, coconut shells, sawdust, and coffee husks—into high-quality, carbonized biomass briquettes. Our flagship product, #EcoBriqs, is a sustainable and efficient alternative to traditional fuels like firewood and charcoal.

  • Superior Performance: Our briquettes have a high calorific value (6,000 - 7,000 J) and a long burning duration, offering more heat per kilogram than ordinary firewood.
  • Better for Health & Environment: They produce significantly less smoke and lower emissions, reducing indoor air pollution and helping to combat deforestation.
  • Versatile Applications: Suitable for household cooking, as well as for use in catering, food processing, and various industries.

2. Reliable Electricity: Solar Swarm Electrification Program (Solar-SEP)

Recognizing the critical need for reliable electricity in off-grid and underserved communities, we have developed the innovative Solar-SEP. This is a decentralized, AI-driven solar microgrid system that delivers stable, alternating current (AC) power at 230V.

  • Decentralized "Swarm" Architecture: Our system creates a resilient and scalable energy network by using a network of small-scale solar panels and self-learning AI to manage the grid efficiently.
